I was listening to the radio a few weeks ago and the radio announcer asked her callers to share their near-death experiences with her and her co-host. A woman called in and shared a story about how when she was younger, she was sitting in her car, at a stop light, and when the light turned green, her car stalled. Out of frustration and embarrassment she panicked to try and get it started again and in the midst of her scramble an 18-wheeler came barreling through the red light. Her car stalling is what saved her life and as she recalled that moment she said these words, "I shouldn't even be here."
As I heard her words come over the speaker, something in my spirit yelled, "YES YOU SHOULD!" I have heard countless people share stories about their experiences and utter those same words. I understand why they are sharing that perspective however I want to challenge the thinking just a bit. If you weren't supposed to be here, you wouldn't be. If you've had a near-death experience and you're still here, I fully believe it's because you still have a purpose and should you grab hold of that thought, so many other lives could be impacted as a result.
If there is breath in your lungs today and you're reading these words, I want to encourage you to think about the dreams you had or maybe still have in your heart.
What is that thing that makes you feel alive as you talk about it?
What passions do you have that you've always wanted to pursue?
What kind of impact do you want to make?
What risks do you regret not taking that maybe there is still time to take?
That's what this blog is about, a journey that I'm inviting you to join me on. How can we make right choices today, to improve ourselves and pursue the things on our hearts. To set goals for the future but to focus on how we can make the best of the day in front of us. To take success principles and make them simple and applicable to our daily lives. To grow 1% better every day.
Will you join me?
