Gratitude Challenge Day #2

You made it through Day #1, Congratulations!! I'm proud of you for starting this journey and choosing to see the best of everything around you in your life!


If you struggled a bit with day 1, it's ok. There is no shame in this process, and no one is judging you. You've got this and we are going to walk together, 1 day at a time. Don't look at the whole process, simply focus on today and continue moving forward.


Day #2 is about your spouse or significant other.

*Write down 30 things you appreciate about that special person in your life.


Now, if you don't have a special someone, that's ok, choose someone close to you for this exercise but it's important to only choose one person. We will be getting to friends down the road, and we want to avoid duplication.


Thinking points:

*What do I value in this person?

*What character traits do I admire?

*What are their strengths

*How have they been a blessing to me?

*What is a special memory we share that really meant a lot to me?


The goal here is to go beyond their attractive appearance or even the hurts they have caused and dive into the heart of this person and what they mean to you.


If you're a person of faith, here are a couple of prayer points I have found helpful:

"God, help me see this situation and (their name) through Your eyes"

"God, would you show me Your heart for (insert their name)"


There is no end to the value of seeing someone through the eyes of their Creator.


Take your time and choose to see the good in this person, even if it's been a difficult or challenging relationship.
